LEAD VIRGINIA's Class of 2009 Application Deadline Approaches |

Applications for the Class of 2009 have been arriving since October -- a few weeks remain for interested applicants to get their applications in before the deadline of January 15.
LEAD VIRGINIA's CEO Susan Horne, '06 has been traveling throughout the Commonwealth to share LEAD VIRGINIA's story. Board Member and Alumni Chairman Bernie Neimeier, '07 joined Susan and Debbie Jones, '07 at the Prince William/Greater Manassas Chamber of Commerce for a Northern Virginia outreach session. Rex Hammond, '06 of the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce and Fran Inge, '05 of Family and Children's Trust Fund of Virginia hosted an event with Board Member Stu Fauber '05 and other alumni in attendance and speaking on behalf of LEAD VIRGINIA. Board Chair Sandy Fitz-Hugh and Susan traveled to Danville for a luncheon and information session hosted by Helm Dobbins '08 and the American National Bank & Trust. A number of 2008 alumni were on hand to help wave the flag for LEAD VIRGINIA. Board Member Junius Williams '05 and Dominion hosted a luncheon in Norfolk, with Board Member Delegate Phil Hamilton attending and Board Member Bill Thornton, '06 assisting in organizing the event. Susan gave a presentation before the Virginia FREE Board of Directors in Richmond, with appreciation to Julien Patterson, '05 for organizing that invitation.
Our appreciation to Dr. Darrel Staat, '05, Dennis Howard, '06, Carl Levander, '07, Ned Massee, '07, Frank Piatkowski, '08, Benny Summerlin, '08, Cian Robinson, '08, Wanda Jeffress, '08, Pete Schleck, '05, Michael Kerner '06 and to Board Member and Recruiting Chairman Whitt Clement for helping to wave the flag at these events!
